The Kutztown Historical Society lost a founding member, Nettie Kaiser, on February 16th 2009. Nettie was the first chairperson of the museum committee. She spent hours at the building cataloging acquisitions and setting up displays. Our collection of clothing for all ages is outstanding because of her efforts.

Carol Erb and Sandy Fenstermacher were fortunate to have been able to work with Nettie when they became new members of the Board of Directors.
They recall that Nettie had everything so well organized down to the detail of her little pill bottles for safety pins, picture hangers, nails, etc. Nettie's husband, Russell, enjoyed woodworking and he often made items for the Society to make it easier to work with all the acquisitions.
The Society's collections and displays would not be as special as they are today without Nettie's efforts. We will always be indebted to her for her hard work and vision for the future of our 1892 School Building.
