SADIE C. DORNMOYER, 88, of 227 Chestnut St., Kutztown, died Sunday afternoon at 2:37 in the Laurel Nursing and Retirement Center, Tilden Township. She was the widow of John E.P. Dornmoyer, who died in 1950.

Born in Maxatawny Township, she was a daughter of Jacob D. and Elmira (Klauss) Levan. A member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown, she had been a teacher for 10 years in Womelsdorf and Maxatawny Township.
Surviving are two daughters: Ethel G., wife of Alfred L. Wessner, Kutztown R.D. 2, and Lillian R., widow of Carson E. Schmoyer, Kutztown, and five grandchildren and a gteat-grandchild. The Trexler-Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, is in charge of arrangments.

While the cold wind of January 22, 1892,, was whistling around the chimney–tops, Levan’s Mill, near Eagle Point, Berks County, was visited by a handsome baby girl, later known as Sadie Caroline Levan. This old mill was famous for having made flour for the soldiers during the Revolutionary War and because Count Zinzendorf preached in it. Her Parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Levan, were highly interested in their daughter and sent her to Eagle Point Public School, where she completed the course by passing the Township examination at Bowers, Pa. She than entered the D Class at Keystone State Normal School. During her summer vacations she assisted her mother in farm- and house-work. She has become one of the organists and teachers of the Eagle Point Sunday School and has served as secretary of the Eagle Point Farmers’ Beneficial Debating Society for three terms. During her spring vacation she substituted for her sick sister, who is teaching in District Township. During the first term of senior year she joined the Philomathean Literary Society, in which she has taken active part
