Richard J. Moranor (Poppy) of Delanco, age 95 years, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at home. He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. and resident of Delanco since 1965. He joined the U.S. Army at age 18 and then transferred after two years to the U.S. Air Force, making it a 21 and a half year career, retiring as a Tech Sgt. Richard served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he then retired as an Engineer from the N.J. Turnpike Authority, Hightstown after 20 years. Poppy was a member of the Dobbins Memorial United Methodist Church, Delanco. Richard was very proud of being a 52-year member of the Beverly-Riverside Masonic Lodge 107 F.& A.M., Riverside, where he was a Past Master. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Consistory and the Crescent Shrine. He was a member of the Delanco Republican Club and the Samuel T. Lambert VFW Post #3020, Delran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean L., and grandson, Ryan R. Archut. He was the beloved father of Deborah L. Archut and husband, George, of Delanco; dear grandfather of Heather Hon and husband, Clive, of Philadelphia, Melissa Archut of NYC, and Ashley Archut at home; and devoted great grandfather of Milania. Relatives and friends of Richard's family are invited to his viewing and visitation 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, at the Dobbins Memorial United Methodist Church, corner of Burlington and Union Avenues, Delanco, where his funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment with Air Force honors will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
