Josephine Alain Held

Jo Held, of Marlton, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2017. She was born December 17, 1926, in Chicago, IL. Married in 1956, she was the much-loved wife of Roy Held. Jo was good-humored, fun-loving, perceptive, caring, and instantly liked by everyone she met. She travelled the world, and had the chance to live in many places including, St. Louis, MO, Darien, CT, Yokohama, Japan, Cherry Hill & Moorestown NJ. She was a Red Cross volunteer during the Vietnam War, and brought comfort to US soldiers just off the battlefield at the Kishine Barracks 106th General Hospital in Yokohama. She volunteered at West Jersey Hospital in Voorhees and The Barclay Farmstead. She loved to sew, shop, and visit the beach, but most of all loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Roy Held; children, Mark Held of Jacksonville, FL, Kim Plasket and husband Doug Plasket of Mt. Laurel; granddaughter Madison Plasket, brother Joseph Alaimo of Lake Forest, IL, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and extended family in the Midwest. She is pre-deceased by her parents Mario and Damiana Alaimo, brother Bart Alaimo, and sisters May Rogula and Angie Schroeder. Visitation will be held at Mt. Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road Mt, Laurel, NJ 08054 on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 10-12 noon, services at 12 noon, followed by burial.
