One of the Patriots war corespondents was one of the 15,000 soldiers that left Tampa for Santiago de Cuba on Wednesday. The following lines from Elmer R. Kroninger, written with pencil from Tampa, Fla., under date of June 7th will be of particular interest to all our readers who have read the conflicting war news in the daily papers.

“ I have no time to write much. We are busy getting our things in shape. Today we start for Santiago de Cuba. There are 15,000 men going from Tampa. They have a large force of Negroes at work loading the transports. They had seven loaded last night. They are out in the bay waiting for the others. Our turn will come sometime today. The streets are crowed with wagon trains and soldiers, and it’s hard work to get through. I will write to the Patriot as soon as we get over there.
Yours Respectfully, E. R. Kroninger.”ll
