The Life of Larry Gerald Hidalgo

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11:00 am in Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Larry Gerald Hidalgo, 84, who passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:09 pm at his residence.

Reverend Ed Degeyter, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Larry, a resident of Duson, LA was the son of the late Merrick Hidalgo and the former Euella Boone.

Larry was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. His loving spirit touched those around him in unforgettable ways. He nurtured and cared for many people as he quickly became everybody''s Paw Paw.

He is survived by his two sons, Terrance L. Hidalgo and his wife, Patti and C. Greg Hidalgo and his wife Christina; his two daughters, Tracelyn Hidalgo and Lori Hidalgo. Paw Paw is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Justin Hidalgo, Jennifer Bourque, Joshua Hidalgo, Curtis Hidalgo, Nathan Hidalgo, Jade Darden, Phillip Parker, Kristi Parker and Kelli Parker; his five great grandchildren; and his sister, JoAnn Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of fifty years Jennell Peterson Hidalgo, his daughter, Kelli Hidalgo, and his sister, Cathy Lynas.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home Bertrand Drive on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 9:30 am until time of service.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
