The Life of Patricia Jean Leblanc

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 10:30 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Patricia Jean LeBlanc, who would have celebrated her 89th birthday on February 17th. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 9, 2014 and is now with her beloved “Geno”. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pastor Randy Borrill will officiate the services. Mary LeBlanc, daughter-in-law and her children will sing “Amazing Grace.” Grandchildren, Michael LeBlanc and Heather Allen, will sing “How Great Thou Art,” Heather Allen will sing “In The Garden” and “Old Rugged Cross” will be played by daughter-in-law, Mary. Survivors include her two daughters, Linda LeBlanc and her husband Malcolm, of Tampa FL and Judy LeBlanc-Delgado of Houston, TX; three sons, Eugene LeBlanc, Jr. and his wife Heddie of Lafayette, LA, Thomas LeBlanc and his wife Mary of Pensacola, FL and David LeBlanc and his wife Annette of Lafayette, LA; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Eugene LeBlanc, Sr., a beloved granddaughter, Michelle LeBlanc; her parents, Charles Ayer and Jean Cameron Ayer ; two sisters, Shirley Rodehisner and June Graham; and one brother, Eugene “Butch” Ayer.

Pat was born in Sydney Nova Scotia, Canada and lived most of her young adult life in Malden, MA and moved to Louisiana after meeting the love of her life Geno. She became a proud citizen of the US on March 31, 1977 and lived in the Lafayette area for the better part of 66 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was an avid bowler, winning many titles and awards over the years. She started her working career at the Lafayette Lanes and was able to expand her skills to become an accountant, of which she retired from in 2005. Pat’s interests also included reading, playing cards, crossword puzzles, embroidering and particularly enjoyed classic movies. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Michael LeBlanc, Damon LeBlanc, Daniel Delgado, Cameron Delgado, Ryan LeBlanc and Joshua LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers are David Ashkenase, Morgan Allen, and Chandler LeBlanc.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille’s DOWNTOWN Location on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service at 10:30 AM.
