The Life of Mary Ruth Brunson
Funeral Services will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 25, 2014 for Mary Ruth Brunson, 74, who passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 8:28 pm at her residence in Lafayette, LA
Reverend Mike Walker, Pastor of East Bayou Baptist Church will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ruth, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter of the late John O. Hendrick and the former Kathryn Keith.
Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and a dear friend to many; she loved the beach and went as often as she could. She was a loyal devoted New Orleans Saints Fan.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dawn T. Byrd and husband Steve, and Deborah K. Theall and companion Kermit Sonnier; her grandson, Damion Byrd and wife Bobbie; her great granddaughters, Grace Kathryn Byrd, Clara Rose Byrd, and Ellianne Olivia Byrd; her brother, Keith Hendrick and wife Beanie and their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Johnny Hendrick.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home Bertrand Drive on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 8:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hendrick, Cliff Smith, Steve Byrd, Damion Byrd, Kermit Sonnier, Dan Byrd, and Keith Hendrick.
The Brunson family would like to thank Ruth’s caregivers, Reva, Bridget, Rosalyn, Mary, Leslie, and Layla for the compassion they showed towards their mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, 409 W. St. Mary Blvd, Lafayette, LA 70506.
