The Life of Billie Louise Nichols

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at a 10:00 AM Methodist Service in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Billie L. Nichols, age 54, who died on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center- LTAC in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Chris Blanchard, Pastor of Covenant Methodist Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, "Notre Pere", "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Other Selections played on CD will be "In My Life" and "Press On". Survivors include her dearest and best friend, who was like a sister, Kim Wright; one brother, James "Jim" Nichols and his wife, Susan Nichols; one aunt, Anne Nichols Schillinglaw; a nephew, William Nichols and his wife, Tiffany; great nephews and nieces, Christopher, Emily, Elise, Oliver and Catherine Nichols. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Owen Nichols, a native of Mt. Olive, Mississippi and the former, Louise D. Duhon, a native of Milton, Louisiana. Miss Nichols was born on December 26, 1958 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with the State of Texas as a Social Worker. Miss Nichols loved to listen to music and loved being around family and friends. She will be sincerely missed by family and friends. Pallbearers will be Dudley Duhon, William Nichols, Paul Duhon, Milton Duhon, Keith Barousse and David Duhon. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
