The Life of Rose Mary Stutes
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at an 11:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Rose Mary Benton Stutes, 86, who passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Rosewood Assisted Living in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Chaplain Toby Ryder of Community Hospice will officiate the funeral services. Musical selections will be, "Amazing Grace," "Pie Jesu," "Ave Maria," and "It Is Well With My Soul."She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Ramona Fahey and her husband, Kenneth and Carolyn Keller-Grimes and her husband, Arley; one sister-in-law, Linda Stutes; two sisters, Mary Ann Lemoine and her husband, Eddie and Sister Mavis Broussard; one brother, Clay Benton and his wife, Vesta; eight grandchildren, Brian Fahey, Benjamin Fahey, Robert Bryan Stutes and his wife, Shelly, Jennifer Marie Sieczko and her husband, Bill, Sandy K. Broussard and her husband, Deke, John Harvey Grimes, Eleanor Carol Grimes, Eli Lee Grimes, and Brother Jake Grimes; eight great grandchildren, Drew Harris, Madison Stutes, Ansley Harris, Sydnee Stutes, Kolton Stutes, Ethan Sieczko, Samantha Sieczko, and Iris Rae Crouchet.She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Sidney Stutes, Jr.; one son, Wayne Sidney Stutes; her parents, Maurice and Amanda Huval Benton; two sisters, Verna Douet and Clayee Miller; and three brothers, Gene Benton, Morris Benton and Carroll Benton.Rose Mary Stutes was born on November 19, 1926 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She was an avid gardener, loved sewing, was a Brownie Troop Leader and loved to cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored. Mrs. Stutes was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 10:00 AM until time of services.
