The Life of Antoinette Dore

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Antoinette “Toni” Black Doré, 66, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2013, her birthday, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Patti Credeur. Giftbearers will be Alex Bailey and Molli Rodriguez. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place", "Yahweh, You Are Near", and "I Cast All My Cares Upon You" for the services. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Raymond Doré; her children, Rachael Doré and husband Corey Vincent of Youngsville, Roxanne Doré Rodman and husband Blair of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rosalyn Doré Hawkes and husband Johnny of Jeanerette, Ryan "Scooter" Doré and wife René Hernandez Doré of Lafayette, Reid Doré and fiancé Christopher Robert Matson of Manhattan, New York, Robin Doré and husband Ryan Credeur of Little Elm, Texas; her grandchildren, Chance Logan Bailey, Alex Michelle Bailey, Reece Logan Credeur, Remi Anne Doré; her great-grandchild, Olivia Rose Bailey; and her parent-in-laws, Richard and Sadie Stokes. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Hanlock, Phyllis Martinec, Margaret Black, and Jeanette Voisin. She was preceded in death by her father, Gayle “Red” Black, her mother, Marie Zednick Black; her son, Richard Anthony Doré; her parent-in-laws, Gaudy and Jean Doré, her brother-in-laws, Paul Martinec, Dwayne Doré, and James Voisin, her dear friend, Bobbie Viator, and her loving dog, Clover. A native of Chicago, Illinois and a resident of Duson, Toni Doré will be most remembered for her life of offering loving deeds and her thoughtfulness of others special needs. She was a fulltime caregiver having worked at LARC in the 1980s and subsequently serving as a nanny for Barrett, Nicholas, Anthony, Marissa, Gregory, and Lyla Grace. Most notably, she dedicated her life to caring for her own son, Richard Anthony Doré. She enjoyed exploring genealogy, antique shopping, watching “The Young and the Restless,” celebrating all holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, and vacationing in New Orleans. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Toni will be missed dearly by family, friends, and all who knew her. Pallbearers will be Alphen "AJ" Doré, Christopher Matson, James "Bubba" Voisin, Ryan Credeur, Chance Bailey, and Reece Credeur. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hawkes, Blair Rodman, and Corey Vincent. The family is grateful for the loving care given by Dr. John Hughes and colleagues of Southwest Pulmonary Associates, as well as, the nurses and staff of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. A special thanks is given to Toni''s twin sister, Jeanette Voisin, for her steadfast presence and care and Father Marco Rangel of Prince of Peace of Plano, Texas for his spiritual guidance when it was needed most. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
