The Life of Yvonne Jumonville

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Mother of the Church for Yvonne Bonnet Jumonville, 82, who died on Monday, September 30, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette, LA. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. Reverend Harold J. Trahan, Pastor of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Lafayette, Louisiana will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Reverend Howard Blessing will concelebrate. Lectors will be Shelby Olivier and Grace Jumonville. Giftbearers will be her great grandchildren and Rosebearers will be her granddaughters. Karen Broussard, accompanied on the organ by Deborah Duhon will sing for the services "On Eagles'' Wings", "Psalm 23", "Ave Maria", "The Lord''s Prayer" and "Be Not Afraid". Survivors include her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Mark Joseph Jumonville of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Claire Jumonville of Lafayette, LA and Amanda Jumonville Olivier and her husband, Bari Olivier of Okemos, MI; four sons, Wade Louis Jumonville and his wife, Krystyna Cypel Jumonville of Lafayette, LA, David Lynn Jumonville and his wife, Karen Carr Jumonville of Austin, TX, Douglas Mark Jumonville and his wife, Karen Guidry Jumonville of Beaumont, TX, and Mark Joseph Jumonville II of Houston, TX; ten grandchildren, Shelley Jumonville, Jeff Jumonville and his wife, Julie, Michelle Jumonville Kelley and her husband, Sean, Chad Jumonville and his wife, Jessica, Carlene Jumonville Smith and her husband, Greg, Brent Olivier and his wife, Stacey, Kyle Olivier and his wife, Ashley, Yvonne Olivier, Clay Olivier, and Shelby Olivier; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Cornay Bonnet and Paula Langlinais Bonnet; two brothers, Otis Bonnet and Louis Bonnet, Jr., two sisters, Jeanette Bonnet Ditch and Ruth Bonnet Landry. A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Yvonne Jumonville was an active member of St. Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Church. She retired from education after having taught math for fourteen years at Fatima High School and Comeaux High School, was principal of Fatima High School from 1977-1982, and principal at St. Thomas More High School from 1982-1989. She was extremely devoted to her faith, her family and her tennis and bridge friends. Yvonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be her sons, Wade Jumonville, David Jumonville, Douglas Jumonville, and Mark Jumonville II as well as her grandsons, Jeff Jumonville, Chad Jumonville, Brent Olivier, Kyle Olivier, and Clay Olivier. Honorary Pallbearer will be Edward Landry. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in Yvonne Bonnet Jumonville''s name to St. Thomas More School at 450 E.
