The Life of Irvin J Savoy

Memorial services will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Irvin J. Savoy, age 79, who passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at his residence in Lafayette after a three year battle with Alzheimer’s. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. The Rev. Chris Blanchard, pastor of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services. Mr. Savoy was a native of Youngsville and a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He retired with Premium Casings after twenty years of service. Mr. Savoy was a member of Covenant Methodist Church in Lafayette. Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Dorothy Vines Savoy of Lafayette; one granddaughter, Danielle Rae Bridges-Rogers; two brothers, Jason "Paul" Savoy of CO and Darryl Savoy and his wife, Marie-Paule, of Lafayette; three sisters, Ora Belle McClelland of Dallas, TX, Earline Isaacs and her husband, Bill, of Lafayette and Deborah Babineau and her husband, Ronnie, of Katy, TX; one sister-in-law, Heidi Savoy; and one son-in-law, Seaman Glasscock of Carencro. He was preceded in death by her parents, Eno Savoy and the former, Lenie Baudoin; one son, Irvin Daniel "Danny" Savoy; one daughter, Donna Lynn Glasscock; one grandson, Jacob Daniel Bridges; one brother, Eno J. Savoy; and three sisters, Anna Lou Richard, Alice Cox and Elgene Baudoin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. Friday until service time on Friday.
