The Life of Olympe Dauphine
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at a 3:00 PM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Olympe Barras Dauphine, 96, who died on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at St. Frances Nursing Home in Oberlin, Louisiana surrounded by her family.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Deacon Travis Abadie will officiate the funeral services.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter Zudie R. Ventura and her husband, Mike; four sons, Floyd Dauphine and his wife, Myrna, Tommy Dauphine and his wife, Pat, Joe Dauphine and James Dauphine and his wife, Carol; sixteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Dauphine; four sisters, Nola Barras, Ethel Barras, Yola Barras and Clelie Durand; and her parents, Claude and Olympe Segura Barras.
Olympe Barras Dauphine was born on July 1, 1917 in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana. She worked for many years for the Daily Advertiser and was also employed at Red Lerille''''s Health and Racquet Club. She loved life, especially spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Dauphine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''''s DOWNTOWN location on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
