The Life of Mark Lynn Trahan

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 at an 11:00 AM Service at Nouvelle Church of Nazarene, 105 Merchants Blvd., Lafayette, Louisiana for Mark Lynn Trahan, 58, who died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Dale Hoffpauir, with Nouvelle Church of Nazarene will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include his beloved wife of twelve years, Carleen Borel Trahan; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Mark Trahan and his wife Evelyn and Matthew William Trahan; one step daughter, Kylie Champagne; three step sons, Jacob Champagne, Devin Champagne and Cody Champagne and his wife Heather; three sisters, Renee'' Trahan Lane and her husband Myron, Denise Trahan Wilson and her husband Damon and Annette Dymphna Trahan; one brother, Carl James Trahan and his wife Cindy; and two grandchildren, Andrew Charles Trahan and Ian Conner Trahan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Charles Trahan and the former Elaine Landry; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marcel and Hazel Borel. Mr. Trahan was born on November 12, 1954 and was a native of Kaplan, Louisiana and former resident of Lafayette. He was employed with Compressed Systems LLC for the past six years. Mr. Trahan was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to fish and hunt. He also loved Cajun Music and listened to KBON Radio Station. Mr. Trahan was very active in the French Immersion Program. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be his three step sons, Jacob Champagne, Devin Champagne and Cody Champagne, his son Matthew Trahan, his godchild Jesse Trahan and nephew Damon J. Wilson. The family requests that visitation be observed at the Nouvelle Church of Nazarene on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and also at Nouvelle Church of Nazarene, 105 Merchants Blvd., Lafayette on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 7:00 PM by Deacon Bill Pollingue. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mark Trahan Memorial Fund.
