The Life of Irene Patin

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1 p .m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Irene Helen Hebert Patin, 84, who passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at her residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Fr. Allen Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearers will be Leah and P.J. Hebert. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette. Irene enjoyed eating and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Leston ''L.J.'' Patin; five daughters, Rita Caraway, Rena Belaire, Darlene (Johnny) Lalonde, Scarlet (Larry) Romero, and Jessica (Paul) Hebert; her sister, Maggie Sonnier; 19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leston Patin; her parents, Joseph and Lielia LeBlanc Hebert; her daughter-in-law, Pam Patin; son-in-law, Darrell Caraway; two grandsons, Ryan Theriot and Shannon Caraway; two great grandsons, Alex Caraway and Chase Romero; two sisters, Etta Brock and Annette Champagne; and her brother, Mozar Hebert. Pallbearers will be L.J. Patin, Casey Romero, P.J. Hebert, Robert Romero, Jimmy Lejeune, and David Romero. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Hebert, Sr. The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and Cassandra Edmond with First Name Basis. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
