The Life of Theodor Redman Gray
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Theodor "Ted" Redman Gray, 73, who passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home in Butte LaRose, LA following a long illness.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Tom O''Grady, Giftbearers will be Jack and Emily Boles along with Jacob Paul and Destiny Gray.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Gray Boles and her husband Mario of Alpharetta, GA., Celia Gray Webre and her husband Allen of Norco, LA., Kelly Steven Gray and his wife Dayana of Broussard, LA., Jeff Gray and his wife Angie of Youngsville, LA., Michael Gray and Perry Gray of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Mayo of Colorado Springs, CO; and one brother, John Joseph Gray of Concord, NH.
Mr. Gray is preceded in death by his wife, Madeline L. Gray, his father Redman M. Gray and his mother, Cecelia A. Gray.
Theodor Redman Gray was born on December 5, 1939 in Concord, New Hampshire and was a long-time resident of Lafayette and Butte LaRose, Louisiana. Mr. Gray served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1972. He valiantly served 3 tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of a Silver Star, Bronze Star and 3 Purple Hearts. Mr. Gray was awarded many plaques, letters of appreciation as well as flags from combat units in Iraq and Afghanistan for nearly 3000lbs of care boxes that were shipped to Marines in the field. He was also a long standing member (34 yrs.) of Alcoholics Anonymous. Mr. Gray would also like for everyone to know that he is the #1 fan of LSU! Geaux Tigers! He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Allen Webre, Kelly Gray, Charlie Prichutt, Danny Leger, Jackie Babineaux and Luke Barras. Honorary pallbearers will be his old military buddies of the Marine Corps League.
A Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 7:00PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
