The Life of Wayne Randall Young

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at a 1:00 PM Service in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel for Wayne "Randy" Young, 58, who died on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Maison de Lafayette surrounded by his family. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Bob Nolan, Pastor of Central Baptist Church in Lafayette, will officiate the services. Brother Dennis Landry, organist and vocalist, will sing for the services, "Through It All," "Amazing Grace," and "Rock of Ages." He is survived by one son, Ashley Young and his wife, Deniece of Opelousas; his mother, Helen Carter and her husband, Rodney, Sr. of Lafayette; two sisters, Cathy Jeffreys and her husband, David of Lafayette and Roxanne Williams and her husband, Michael of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Rodney Carter, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Lafayette and Richard Carter and his wife, Lisa of Albany, NY; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Teresa Young; and his father, Wayne Wallace Young. Wayne "Randy" Young was born on February 8, 1955 in Tampa, Florida. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. "Randy", as he was known to his family and friends, loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and will be dearly missed by all. Pallbearers will be Paul Carter, Rodney Carter, Wesley Carter, Tommy Carter, David Jeffreys and Rocky Carter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Carter, Robert Bartmess and Skip Sherlock. The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 11:00 AM until time of services. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Lafayette General Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospice for their kindness, compassion and care given to Mr. Young and his family during their time of need.
