The Life of Danny Emile Desormeaux

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Danny Emile Desormeaux, age 53, who died on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, due to an injury sustained from a golf cart accident in New Orleans while playing golf with his family. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be John Acosta and Erin Wooten. Giftbearers will be Jenny Acosta, Karen Pierret, Emily Acosta and Erin Wooten. Eulogist will be Scott Brazda. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "Be Not Afraid", "Here I Am Lord", "On Eagles'' Wings" and "The Lord''s Prayer" for the services. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Sibille Desormeaux; his daughter, Danielle Desormeaux Broussard and her husband Beau; one son, Ryan Desormeaux; parents, Emile Desormeaux, Jr. and Linda Boudreaux Desormeaux; two sisters, Karen Pierret and her husband Davey and Jenny Acosta and her husband John; his nieces, Erin Wooten (godchild), Emily Acosta (godchild), Courtni Pierret, Lindsey Pierret, Chelsea Faulk, Haley Mouisset, Amber Camel, Kaitlyn Hebert and Allison Sibille; nephews, J.C. Acosta, Corey Pierret and Jacob Pierret; in-laws, William Conley Sibille and Karen Martin Sibille; sisters-in-law, Maria Martin and her husband Tommy and Amy Sibille; and his brother-in-law, Billy Sibille and his wife Sheila. He was preceded in death by twin infant sons, John and Jacob Desormeaux; maternal grandparents, Perry Boudreaux and Thelma Hanes Boudreaux Castille; his paternal grandparents, Emile Desormeaux, Sr. and Lucy Meaux Desormeaux; and his brother-in-law, Scott Mouisset. A native of New Iberia and a resident of Lafayette and Broussard for most of his life, Danny was an independent insurance agent. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball, and golf. Danny coached many of his daughter''s sports teams through the years, and he caddied for almost all of his son''s golf tournaments. In recent years, Danny spent most of his time at UL Ragin Cajun football games with his family, at his son''s golf tournaments, and relaxing poolside at his home with family and friends. Danny was a true family man who enjoyed every holiday and family gathering. Pallbearers will be Ryan Desormeaux, Beau Broussard, Davey Pierret, Corey Pierret, John Acosta and Rodney Desormeaux. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Sibille, Glenn Boudreaux and Tommy Martin. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE Lafayette location on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
