The Life of Hilda Hebert

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Hilda Guidry Hebert, 94, who died on January 10, 2013 at her daughter''s residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery. Reverend Gary Schexnayder will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Musical selections will be, "J''irai la voir un jour", "Ave Maria", "On Eagles'' Wings", and "How Great Thou Art". Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Marie Hebert of Lafayette; one son, Glynn A. Hebert, M.D. and his wife, Karen of Bogalusa, LA; one sister, Ethel Newsom of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Albert Guidry and his wife, Mae Helen Cormier of Carencro, LA; six grandchildren, Kimberly Sibille and her husband Mark, Kerry Balado, Glynn A. Hebert II and his wife Kellie, Kelly Mizell and her husband Yuan, Kathy Willis, M.D. and her husband Shane; and Robbie Miller and his wife Carrie; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adlar Hebert; one sister, Hazel Trahan; and her parents. Hilda Guidry Hebert was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on December 2, 1918 to Mayo and Alma Stutes Guidry. After she married, she lived in Kaplan, Louisiana. Mrs. Hebert was a member of the Homemakers Club, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and also served in the Ladies Altar Society. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Tim Savoit, Glynn A. Hebert II, Mark Sibille, Yuan Mizell, Robbie Miller, and Larry Hebert. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location. The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services. The family would like to thank all the nurses and aides who cared for Mrs. Hilda. Thank you to Judy Dupuis for coordinating the caregivers. Special thanks to the following caregivers who took special care for Mrs. Hilda in her time of need; Kathleen Touchet, Sue Buchanan, Kristy Martin, and Lacie Stelly.
