The Life of Lionel Astor Prejean
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, January 14, 2013 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lionel Astor Prejean, 76, who passed away on January 12, 2013 at 11:00 am at his residence.
Mr. Prejean, a resident of Duson, LA, was the son of the late John Robert Prejean of Lafayette, Louisiana and the former Marion Dees of Amite, Louisiana. He graduated from Lafayette High and SLI. He was in Radio Sales and Heavy Equipment Sales where he retired from M & L Industries after 21 years. He was employed by FARA Risk Control at the time of his death. He loved to travel, was an avid camper, Blue Grass music lover and joke teller. He had served on the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Center and had recently been elected Vice President of the board.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Breaux Prejean; his daughter, Leslie P. Delaney and her fiance'' Robert Krieg, his sons, Lara R. Prejean and wife Donna Saucier Prejean, Brandon D.Prejean and his fiance'' Jessie Linnerooth; his step daughters, Jan R. Domingue and her husband William; Jenny Barreca and her husband Nash; his stepson, Keith Rousseau and his wife Kathy; his grandchildren, Angel Delaney, Ashley Delaney, Amanda Delaney and Jacob Hebert, Jaclynn Prejean, Brandon Prejean,Jr., Ethan Prejean, Peyton Prejean, Nathan Guillory, Tyler Prejean; his step grandchildren, Kaleb Barreca, Nash Barreca,III, and his fiance'' Katie Courville, Brandon Rousseau, Allie Rene'' Rousseau and his five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Blaine P. Prejean.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jon Leleux, Dr. Jody Rossen, Dr. Gary Guidry, the staff at Lafayette General Hospital and Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate and attentive care.
