The Life of Dale Paul LeBlanc
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mr. Dale Paul LeBlanc, 86, who died peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Lafayette General Hospital.
Mr. LeBlanc was born at home on June 4, 1926 at 110 Avenue B in downtown Lafayette to Paul Beo LeBlanc and Agnes Eva Chargois.
He attended Cathedral, Lafayette High and SLI (now ULL) , then joined the Marines at age 17. He fought in World War II, proudly serving his country in the Pacific theatre. Following his two years of service, he returned to Lafayette.
Mr. LeBlanc enjoyed different types of employment, but found his niche as a salesman, first for Lafayette Concrete Company and then Angelle Concrete. He loved people, and he loved selling. He was well known in the industry, and made many friends, and was affectionately called “bougre a ciment” (the cement man) and “the donut man” as he regularly brought donuts on his rounds. One of the greatest compliments he ever received was from a workman at a construction site, who told the foreman, “that man could sell a car to a blind man.” He always thought of his customers and how he could provide the best service possible. When meeting with a prospective out-of-town client, he would compile a detailed directory of Lafayette contacts in the industry. They were always grateful, as this service would save them weeks of discovering the information for themselves. His skills helped seal many a deal. He truly loved his work, took great pride in it, and always strived to be the best salesman he could.
Mr. LeBlanc is survived by daughters Lisa L. Boudreaux (Chuck) of Lafayette, Jan L. Wicks (Rob) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, sons Paul Victor LeBlanc, of Lafayette, and Steven Dale LeBlanc (Belle) of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren Sam Domingue (Shelley), Lisa D. Perniciaro (Michael), Stacey B. Grow (Terry), Nicole Domingue and her fiance’, Craig Boudreaux, Leslie B. Tidwell (Jake), Charles J. “Trey” Boudreaux, III, Ian J. Wicks, Maya, Miles, Eva and Sidney Landry, and Tallulah LeBlanc; great-grandchildren Gavin and Gracie Domingue, Ethan Shanahan, Michael John and Katerina Perniciaro, Isaiah and Micah Carranza, and Ada and Charlie Grow.
Mr. LeBlanc was predeceased by his parents, daughter Karen L. Domingue, son-in-law, Greg Domingue, granddaughter Jennifer Julia Wicks, and the mother of his children, Dotsie L. LeBlanc.
He also wanted to remember those cherished friends who went ahead of him: Curt Chastant, Jimmy Gauthier, and Wayne Gilder. Mr. LeBlanc was an only child, but his Marine buddies, Leo Dubinsky, Frank Ramos, Ron Sampson and Rick Frederickson were his brothers; they had a very special bond forged in World War II.
Pallbearers will be Victor LeBlanc, Steven LeBlanc, Chuck Boudreaux, Rob Wicks, Sam Domingue, Trey Boudreaux and Ian Wicks.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael Perniciaro, Terry Grow, Jake Tidwell, Miles Landry, Sidney Landry, Dr. Russell Romero, Dr. Robert Romero, Jerry Romero, Rick Frederickson, Robert “Popie” Billeaud, Vic Kilchrist, Glenn Colomb, Mel Hightower, Tom Logan, Therian LaFleur, John Chastant, Pat Menard, Jedd Green, Dr. Deborah Johnson and Dr. Michael Cain.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Michael Cain for his kindness, compassion and friendship in the years of treating our Dad, and Dr. Cain’s office staff. Special thanks also to the staff on the 9th floor of Lafayette General, especially Katelyn Maybrier and Kevin Granger, who showed what exemplary care truly means.

We love you and will miss you every day. Thank you for your examples of faith, strength, honesty, courage, humor, perseverance, courtesy, and unconditional love. You set the bar high for us. You once told me that you might not have a lot to leave us, but you tried very hard to leave us with a good name. Dad, you succeeded.
Visitation is Wednesday, January 9 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m., and on Thursday, January 10 from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mr. LeBlanc’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org. He strongly believed in helping our wounded heroes.
