The Life of Jane Smith Jemison

BATON ROUGE - Jane Towns Jemison, 90, a native of Atlanta, GA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012. Jane spent most of her life as a homemaker and in furniture sales. She was a member of P.E.O. Jane had many friends and loved people. She had a knack for remembering everyone''s name. She was very popular at St. James Place and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge and Grace Presbyterian Church of Lafayette. She is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Jemison, Jr.; daughter Mary Lillian Cockerham and husband Gerald; sons Robert E. Smith Jr. and wife Linda, and Charles Hunter Smith and wife Mary; grandchildren: Scott, Michael, Paul; and great grandchildren: Francis, Luke, Brittney, and Jasey. She is preceded in death by her first husband Robert E. Smith, Sr. A graveside service will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 1:00pm presided over by John Wamsley. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jane''s honor to St. James Place Foundation or First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge.
