The Life of Louise Bergeron

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette for Louise G. "Weze" "Maw Maw" Bergeron, 82, who died on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Daniel Edwards, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Heather Noel Lott and Philip Andrew Bergeron. Gift Bearers will be Cheryl B. Bonie and Randall P. Bergeron. Karen Broussard, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace," "On Eagles Wings," "Ave Maria," "The Lord''s Prayer" and "Hail Mary Gentle Woman." She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl B. Bonie of New Orleans and Noel B. Lott and her husband, Dr. Hulon Lott, Jr. of Baton Rouge; three sons, Keith W. Bergeron and his wife, Donna, of Youngsville, Randall P. Bergeron and his wife, Diane, of Houston, TX and Brian A. Bergeron of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her cherished sister in law, Joel "Aunt Sis" Brennan, her brother in law and his wife, Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Bergeron, and beloved friends, Lyall and Celeste Scott of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Scherrer Bergeron; her parents, Peter V. and Emma Lagarde Gelé; seven brothers, Gilbert, Peter, Charles, Lionel, Merline, George and Paul Gelé; and four sisters, Jeanne Frey, Hilda Wall, Claire Encardes and Claudette Hammer. Louise was a loving wife of 49 years and a devoted mother. Her Catholic faith, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and her family were her most important priorities. She was a retired nurse having worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for many years. "Weze" enjoyed playing Bridge regularly with her close friends whom she cared for dearly. She loved, lived and walked daily in the foot steps of Jesus. Maw Maw will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Lott, Christopher Lott, Benjamin Lott, Zachary Lott, Brennan Bergeron, Philip Bergeron, Matthew Bergeron, Daniel Bergeron, and Michael Bergeron. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Scott, Isaac Scott and Patrick Scott. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location. The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday, December 2, 2012, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until service time.
