The Life of Peggy Jean Flory

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 7, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Peggy Jean Flory, 86, who passed away on November 30, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. On August 16, 1926 a beautiful blonde girl was born to Albert (Bo) and Connie Crosby. November 30, 2012, she quietly slipped away into her new life. During her time on earth she lived a fruitful life. She lovingly raised three children, three step-children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In the earlier part of her life she loved dancing and sailing on Cross Lake and Lake Ponchartrain. Peggy won several international trophies sailing in her moth sailboat. In addition to her sailing, Peggy helped her family raise and show Quarter Horses. Peggy was also very active with her husband, Scotty, in the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. She was first lady of the association in 1977. She is survived by her husband, Arthur C."Scotty" Flory, of Lafayette, LA; her daughter, Claire Conrad of Lafayette, LA; her sons, Ray Conrad and his wife, Carol of Austin, TX, Jerry Conrad of Breaux Bridge, LA, Chris Flory and his wife, Nan of Flower Mound, TX, Keith Flory and his wife Pam of North Richland Hill, TX, David Flory and his wife, Dale of Hot Springs Village, AR; her grandchildren, Cain Conrad, David McDougald and his wife, Julie, Bo McDougald, Christopher Flory, Amy Latham and her husband Mark, Scott Flory and his wife, Jamie, Lindsay Walmsley and her husband Matt, and Courtney Flory; her great grandchildren, Emily McDougald, Taylor Latham and Audrey Latham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Connie Crosby, and her former husband, Cliff Conrad. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and continue Friday from 11:00 am until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Mrs. Flory to The A Pregnancy Center, 913 S. College Road, Ste. 206, Lafayette, LA 70503. Pallbearers will be Billy Aycock, Bo McDougald, Cain Conrad, David McDougald, Gerald Thibodeaux and Glenn Wheeler. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
