The Life of Walter Ernest Leonpacher
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Walter Ernest Leonpacher, 83, who passed away on November 15, 2012 at 5:45 pm at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Deacon Art Bakeler, of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Leonpacher, a resident of Port Barre, LA, was the son of the late Louis Luitpold Leonpacher of Traustein, Germany and the former Fanny Mendel of London, England.
He is survived by his daughters, Eileen L. Thomas and her husband, Jeff, Brenda L. Regan and her husband, Stan, Diana L. Staton and her husband, Joe, Melanie L. Hebert and her husband, Byron, his son, Eric C. Leonpacher; his grandchildren, Jarred P. Abina, Micah W. McConnell, Brad J. Hebert and Alaina J. Hebert; his sister, Margaret L. Palma and her husband Alfred; his brothers, Alfred Leonpacher and his wife, Sandra and Robert Leonpacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Carl J. Leonpacher, his granddaughter, Cristi E. Hebert and his brother, Erwin Leonpacher.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Palma, Jeff Thomas, Jack Leonpacher, Jarred Abina, Louis Pizzolata, and Michael Leonpacher.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
