The Life of Daisy Alene Mellington
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Covenant United Methodist Church for Daisy Alene Mellington, 84, who passed away on November 8, 2012 at 11:50 am at The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.
Reverend Chris Blanchard, Pastor of Covenant United Methodist Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Mellington, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Charles Smith and the former Bertha Jackson. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Brett J. Mellington and wife Donna of Lafayette, LA and Craig K. Mellington and wife Terry of The Woodlands, TX; three grandchildren, Ian Mellington and wife Tarena, Ande'' Mellington and Eric Mellington; and three great grandchildren, Andrew Mellington, Morgan Trahan and Emily Trahan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lyle Mellington, and one brother, Forest "Sonny" Smith.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Mrs. Mellington to Covenant United Methodist Church Building Fund, 300 East Martial St., Lafayette, LA 70508.
Pallbearers will be Ian Mellington, Eric Mellington, Ande'' Mellington, Wayne Atkinson, Tracey Richardson and Jack Hudson.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Erin, Tammy and Connie and the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.
