The Life of John Allen Boudreaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for John Allen Boudreaux, 86, who died Monday, November 5, 2012 at his apartment at Courtyard in Lafayette surrounded by family. Rev. Dan Edwards of St. Jules Catholic Church will officiate. John was born Thursday, April 22, 1926 in Duson and was a lifetime resident of Acadiana. He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. John was the Owner and Operator of Coastal Air Conditioning for many years. John was active in his community and volunteered much of his time. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Coordinator of the Lafayette Prescription Assistance Program, a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Jules Catholic Church and a volunteer for Camp Blue Bird for cancer survivors. John was known for his quick smile, sense of humor and caring nature. He was very generous to others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family and was a loving and supportive father, grandfather, brother, uncle, comrade and friend. Mr. Boudreaux is survived by two daughters, Faye Boudreaux-Bartels and her husband William Bartels, of West Kingston, RI and Mona Boudreaux and her partner Lynelle Graham, of Wonder Lake, IL; sister, Ruth Menard of Lafayette; grand daughter, Rachel Bartels of Philadelphia, PA; grand son, Nathan Bartels of West Kingston, RI; numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hebert Boudreaux and his parents, Gustave Boudreaux and Edith Domingue Boudreaux. Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 2:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resumes Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank his physicians, especially Dr. Gregory Riggs, and the staff of STAT Home Health Care, Fresenius Medical Care West and St. Joseph Hospice for the compassionate care given to John and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Boudreaux''s name to Camp Bluebird at www.campbluebird.com.
