The Life of Lovelace Vincent

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at a 2:00 PM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Lovelace Vincent, 82, who died on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Sam Blaylock will officiate the services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace,", "Beulah Land," and "The Old Rugged Cross Made a Difference." He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 60 years, Jane Thibodeaux Vincent; three sons, Bobby Vincent and his wife, Lisa, Randy Vincent and his wife, Gwen, and Ted Vincent and his wife, Becky; six grandchildren, Amber Hatley, Skyi Vincent, Ryan Vincent and his wife Maggie Dupre Vincent, Cory Vincent, Christopher Vincent and Claire Vincent; one great granddaughter, Josie Hatley; and one twin sister, Lorris V. Brasseaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Senauh and Ament Morvant Vincent; one brother, Douglas Vincent; and one sister, Grace Gunnell. Lovelace was born on August 18, 1930 in Kaplan, Louisiana and has been a resident of Lafayette since 1953. He was a member of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Lovelace was the owner and operator of Vincent's Texaco Station as well as Vincent & Sons towing where he worked until his retirement. He was also a member of Northside Baptist Church in Lafayette. Lovelace enjoyed spending time at his camp in Butte La Rose, cooking, and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Pallbearers will be Bobby Vincent, Ryan Vincent, Ted Vincent, Christopher Vincent, Randy Vincent and Cory Vincent. The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
