The Life of Susie Mae Kunefke

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need," Psalms 23:1 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Susie Mae Kunefke, 92, who passed away on August 2, 2012 at 7:05 am at The Carpenter House. Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Susie Mae Kunefke born on November 16, 1919, was a long time resident of Lafayette and was currently living with family in Denham Springs, LA, and was the daughter of the late Oscar Cuniff and the former Molly Taylor both of Beaumont, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette. She is survived by five grandchildren, Brandon Kunefke, Jeri Cooper, Keri Jordan Pickering, Beche Kenefke Bryant, and Shana Stout; 15 great grandchildren, Colby, Brady Paul, Gracie, Ella Claire, Josie, Kaleigh, Kelsie, Hunter, Bradley, Hayleigh, Burlin, Brandon, Breanna, Hanna, and Julianna; and two sisters in law, Thelma Standly and husband Troy, and Jeanette Kunefke. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of nearly 62 years, Vernon Kunefke, Sr., her son, Vernon Kunefke, Jr., her daughter in law, Shurley Kunefke. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 12:00 pm until time of service in Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Mrs. Kunefke to The Carpenter House, 10615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA, 70809. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA , is in charge of funeral arrangements.
