A devoted mother and loving wife, she heartily encouraged others to pursue their dreams. Beulah had a generous spirit, and a compassionate heart. A mild mannered lady with a sweet disposition, Beulah was admired for her concern and love of others. Her gentle touch and caring heart could help soothe any ailment. Cooking for her family and being around her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren was her greatest satisfaction in life. A self- taught, accomplished seamstress, she put her love into every stitch. Beulah will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know and love her; a brave woman who defied the odds and inspired us all. A gentle and forgiving woman who enjoyed life and like an angel, she surely lived it lightly. Beulah was a long time member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard and the Ladies Altar Society. Deeply religious, she would say her rosary daily and make novenas. She was, and still forever will be, a part of our character and a piece of our hearts. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Andrew Tribe, Christopher Tribe, Eric Morrell, Randy Simon, and James "Chip" VanHaverbeke A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 7:00 PM In Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location. The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of services. A special note of appreciation is given to the staff at Camelot of Lafayette Nursing Home for their compassionate, attentive care of Beulah during her 3 years of residency there. The family would like to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice for their care during this time. Also, thanks to the kind, thoughtful people at Martin and Castille Funeral Home. “My Mother” written by Tom Dillon in 1917 - the year of Beulah’s birth. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, “Come live with me.” With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fading away, we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stops beating, your hardworking hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. God will love you and keep you until we meet someday.
