The Life of Nelda Rose Judice

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Nelda Rose Girouard Judice, age 84, who died at 1:00 AM on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Thomas P. Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Ednide Demaest, Susan Judice and Jacey Mouton. Giftbearers will be Ednide Demaest and Linda Breaux. Valerie Andrus, organist, will sing for the services, "I Will Rise", "I Will Never Forget You My People", "I Can Only Imagine" and "Amazing Grace". Survivors include two daughters, Rose Aileen Begnaud and her husband Larry, and Clara Ann Judice; seven sons, Perry John Judice, Ted William Judice and his wife Brandi, Victor Wayne Judice and his wife, Judy, Jerome Bryan Judice and his wife Ednide, Dennis James Judice, Kip Anthony Judice and his wife Susan and Darrin Charles Judice and his wife Deanne Kathleen; twenty seven grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Landry and two brothers, Ray Girouard and Harold "Bihm" Girouard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Judice and her parents, Sidney Girouard and the former, Alma Guilbeau; four brothers and two great grandchildren. Born on December 19, 1927 in Scott, Louisiana, Mrs. Judice was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with VFW Post 9822. Mrs. Judice will be missed by her family and friends. Pallbearers will be her seven sons, Perry Judice, Ted Judice, Victor Judice, Jerome Judice, Dennis Judice, Kip Judice and Darrin Judice and son-in-law, Larry Begnaud. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Monday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Art Bakeler Monday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice Compassus for the excellent care give to Mrs. Judice, also to the Doctors and Staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Courtyard Manor.
