The Life of Faye Broussard

Born on January 25, 1931, Faye Duhon Broussard, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Lafayette, Louisiana, surrounded by her family and close friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Tommy Jude Broussard of Fort Worth, Texas; sole surviving sister, Beatrice D. Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew "Tib" Broussard; her parents, Louis Duhon and Martha Judice Duhon; and three sisters, Vivian D. LeBlanc, Jeanne D. Hebert and Jewell D. Maturin. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Faye got her Real Estate License in Lafayette and actively did appraisals for the Lafayette Sheriff's Office up until a month before her death. Managing her appraisal business from her home, Faye enjoyed her active status as a respected business person. Her advice was sought and treasured by others. Faye cherished her worldwide travels with her son, brought family and friends together through her love of cooking and enjoyed the companionship of her Jack Russell, Penny. Inheriting her love of flowers from her mother, Martha Duhon, Faye created a tranquil paradise in her yard surrounding her house that the family continues to love. Reverend A. Rex Broussard, Jr., Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church in Judice, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Brenda Maturin, Julie Hebert, Anne Maturin, Ellen Maturin, Jack Garcille and Emily Garcille. Lectors will be Janet Lavergne and Jennifer Garcille.
