The Life of Mary Mildred Doucet
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Mary Mildred Doucet, age 85, the former Mary Mildred Moss, who died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery.
Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include two sons, David Doucet of Breaux Bridge, Johnny Ray Doucet and his wife, Susan Tripp Doucet of Milton and a daughter, Patricia Knott and her husband, Jerry Lee Knott of Gonzales, Louisiana; five grandchildren Derick Doucet, Chris Doucet, Gabe Doucet, Sara Thevis and Gregory Doucet and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harry Doucet; and her parents, Ellie Moss and the former Althe DuBois.
Mrs. Doucet was born on August 15, 1926 in Youngsville, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Mrs. Doucet was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be sincerely missed.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Deacon Ricky Picard.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Staff on 7th Floor at Lafayette General Medical Center for their wonderful care. And also, special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for the excellent support and compassionate assistance.
