The Life of Emery Joseph Broussard
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Emery J. Broussard, 85, who died on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Magnolia Place in Lafayette.
Entombment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Mausoleum.
Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Cinnamon Broussard and Cathy DeRouen. Giftbearers will be Abbey Broussard and Seth Broussard. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "My Shepherd Is The Lord", "Ave Maria", "Pie Jesu" and "On Eagles'' Wings" for the services.
Survivors include two sons, Kim F. Broussard and his wife Cinnamon and Kasey F. Broussard, all of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Abbey Broussard and Seth Broussard; two sisters, Bea DeRouen of Lafayette and Grace Broussard of Baton Rouge; and one brother, D.O. Broussard of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ida Duhon Broussard; two brothers, Carroll Broussard and John "Bye" Broussard; and one niece Karen Lantier.
A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Emery Broussard was employed at Schoeffler Cadillac for 19 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Jules Council and was a Fourth Degree Bishop Dubourg Assembly. Emery Broussard will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Todd Broussard, Mike DeRouen, Kimp DeRouen, Glenn Guidry, Scott Domingue and Bob Abel.
Honorary Pallbearers will be D.O. Broussard and Glenn Carpenter.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Art Bakeler, Jr. at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
