The Life of Fern Krieg

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, Louisiana for Fern D. Krieg, age 74, who entered eternal rest at 8:25 AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Jason Mouton, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Josh Krieg and Rhae Lynn Krieg. Giftbearers will be Angelle Cleneay and Rebecca Krieg. Cindy Hebert, vocalist, accompanied on the organ by Karen Broussard, will sing for the services, "Ave Maria", "Be Not Afraid", "Amazing Grace" and "On Eagles Wings". Survivors include five sons, Stephen Krieg and his wife, Renee of Tyler, Texas, Tony "Buz" Krieg and his wife, Brenda of Youngsville, Ray Krieg and his wife, Lisa of Denver, Colorado, Carl Krieg and his wife, Paula of Milton, Louisiana and George Krieg and his wife, Susan of Cade, Louisiana and one daughter, Josie K. Cleneay and her husband, Allen of Youngsville, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Rachelle Falcon and her husband, B.J., Ronnie Krieg, Josh Krieg, Rebecca Krieg, Rhae Lynn Krieg, Angelle Cleneay, Nicholas Cleneay, Logan Krieg and Addison Krieg; five step grandchildren, James Broussard, Nicholas Broussard, Blake Domingue, Alexandria Domingue and Bryant Tabb; three great grandchildren, Raini Falcon, Briston Falcon, and Blaize Falcon. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Norbert "Scrub" Krieg on July 8, 2006; a daughter, Eileen "Sissy" Krieg; her parents, Ray Delahoussaye and the former Aline Dupont and one brother, Harry E. Delahoussaye. Mrs. Krieg was born on August 30, 1937 and was a native of Kaplan, Louisiana and a resident of Youngsville, Louisiana for the past 46 years. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother. Mrs. Krieg was commonly referred to as "Mom Fern" by the many who frequently visited the family home. Her favorite memories were spending time with the family, which brought her so much joy. She was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Community in Youngsville and a member of the St. Anne's Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Krieg was an avid supporter of the United States Veterans. She, along side with her husband, was co-owner of the Krieg Brothers Terrazzo Company. Pallbearers will be Tony Krieg, Ray Krieg, Carl Krieg, George Krieg, Ronnie Krieg, and Lawrence Delahoussaye. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stephen Krieg, Allen Cleneay, Bubby Krieg, B J Falcon, Josh Krieg, Nicholas Cleneay, Briston Falcon and Blaize Falcon. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of the Funeral Mass. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Fern D.
