The Life of Dallas John Castille

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Catholic Church for Dallas John Castille, 81, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church will officiate the services. Giftbearers will be grand daughters, Monique Benoit and Alexis Castille. Survivors include, eight children, Michael John Castille, his wife Lynn, Cathy Gautreaux,Debi Castille, Kyle James Castille, Scott Castille, Doak Castille, his wife Henrietta, Freda Landry, her husband Jeff, Clara "Mikki" Meche, her husband Michael; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; . He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jacqueline Castille; his parents, Numas Castille and Olena Savoy; one grandson, Chad Gautreaux; and several brothers and sisters. Dallas John Castille was born on September 27, 1930 in Church Point, Louisiana. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army for over 22 years. Mr. Castille was a long-time employee of P.H.I. and was a faithful member of St. Pius X Catholic Church Community. He loved making vegetable gardens, playing Bingo and going for long drives. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Pallbearers will be Scott Castille, Doak Castille, John Castille, Bryce Castille, Dallas Landry and Jerrel Castille. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Castille, David Dean, Donny Menard, Craig Benoit, Steven Dunston and Michael Meche. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location. The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 7:00 AM until time of services. A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the family to St. Joseph Hospice for the loving care given to Mr. Castille in his final days.
