He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Verna Rouley Duhon; his parents, Treville and Estella Duhon; three sisters, Ida Broussard, Mae Boudreaux and Maydell Breaux; three brothers, Rex Duhon, Wesley Duhon and Nolan Duhon; and a step-son, Gerald Menard. Norris Duhon was born on September 7, 1923 in Lafayette, Louisiana. In his early years he worked as a cab driver, and a DMV agent, but retired as a salesman for a local candy and tobacco company after 25+ years of service. "Pop" as he was best known by his family had many hobbies after retirement. He could most often be found turning some piece of junk into a birdcage, BBQ pit, or some other work of "pop art". He loved to piddle with jewelry and was even known to sew a little. He loved to comment on cars, and would talk about the many kinds and makes he had owned in his life. "Pop's" joy quickly waned after Mom's death this year and we could tell that he was ready to go and be with her. And because of that reunion, we can once again say that one day soon, "we're going to Mom and Pop's house". He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Pallbearers will be Blaine Menard, Jhaice Menard, Jhess Menard, Chris Sons, Billy Menard and Gerald Menard, Jr. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of services. Martin & Castille-DOWNTOWN-330 St. Landry St., Lafayette, LA 70506, 337-234-2311
