Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Cecil D. Trahan; one daughter, Jovette T. Mosing and her husband Michael; two sons, Todd D. Trahan and his wife Cindy and Chad D. Trahan and his wife Carol Ann; and six grandchildren, Vohn Mosing, Bryn Mosing, Emile Trahan, Elliott Trahan, Evan Trahan and Ethan Trahan. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Domingue and his wife Janice. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludovic and Addie Mary Breaux Domingue. Jeanette met her future husband Cecil on a blind date at the young age of 14, which began their 58 year relationship. After completion of high school at Mount Carmel, she was employed by Abdallas downtown. In 1958 she and Cecil were married in the Gymnasium at Our Lady of Fatima and quickly began their family. While raising their three children, she often volunteered as a Pink Lady at Lafayette General Hospital. She was an original member of the Bendel Rosary Group that meet weekly for over fifty years to answer petitions and offer prayers for those in need. During the 1960’s she became a member of the Plantation Bells, a group of local ladies who gathered to organize and perform various works of charity in the community….as well as to socialize. For eighteen years she was an active member of the Krewe of Attakapas. She enjoyed celebrating the Mardi Gras season with friends and family, yet still found time to give back to the community while visiting local nursing homes distributing Mardi Gras favors and “sussies”. Jeanette was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was a very kind-hearted and generous woman to all who knew her. Even through the end of her illness she continued to offer support to those who were closest to her heart. As a true woman of her word she always believed “Little things mean a lot.” The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. A. Gupta, Dr. M. Vanderlick and Dr. V. Valentino, as well as the nurses and doctors at Fresenius Medical Care. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Trahan and Greg Domingue. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Lafayette location on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 5:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. For those preferring memorial contributions, please send them to The Thensted Outreach Center, P. O.
