The Life of Ruth Mary Landry

Funeral Services will be held at a 12:00 noon Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Church for Ruth Mary Landry, 79, who passed away on April 1, 2012 at 11:50 am at Natchez Regional Medical Center. Monsignor Charles Mallet will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God. Mrs. Landry, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Louis C. Bonnet of Lafayette, Louisiana and the former Paula Langlinais of Broussard, Louisiana. Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, a 1950 graduate of Mount Carmel High School, and attended SLI. Mrs. Landry was married to her husband Ed Landry for 61 years. Ruth was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time cooking and enjoying her family. She was a Eucharistic minister through Our Lady of Fatima Catholic church where she ministered to the homebound. She was always aware of other people's needs whether through her ministry or just because someone needed help. She is survived by husband, Edward G. Landry of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Carolyn Landry of Lafayette, LA and Charlotte Robbins and her husband Steve of Houston, TX; three sons, David E. Landry and his wife Marcia of Lafayette, LA, Richard G. Landry and his wife Daphne of Lafayette, LA, and Jerome E. "Jerry" Landry and his wife Janet of Moss Bluff, LA; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Yvonne B. Jumonville and her husband Mark of Lafayette, LA and one sister in law, Beverly Daspit of Lafayette, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and two brothers. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Joshua G. Landry, Jacob E. Landry, David E. Landry, Jr., Ryan Robbins, Alex Robbins and Zachary Robbins. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to De La Salle Christian Brothers at 1522 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, LA 70501. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
