The Life of Lilly Mae Simon

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Lilly Mae Simon, age 83, the former Lilly Mae Landry, who died on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Fairpark Healthcare in Maryville, Tennessee. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church in Duson, will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Howard and Barbara Champagne. Lector will be Jessie Stockton. Valerie Andrus, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Yahweh Is My Shepherd Now", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "J'irai la voir un jour", and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Turney J. Simon of Lafayette; four daughters, Sadie McDaniel and her husband, Alan of Maryville, TN, Glinda LeBlanc and her husband, Bradley of Lafayette, Judy Touchet of Lafayette and Darlene Ritchey and her husband, Brian of Maryville, TN.; seven grandchildren, Jessie Stockton, Steven Duhon, Kelly LeBlanc, Kristen LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc, Cody Ritchey and Ethan Ritchey; four step grandchildren, Summer Ladner, Jonathon Ritchey, Scott McDaniel and Ginny Summers, eleven great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren; one sister, Gerald McDonald of Lafayette and two brothers, James Landry and Dave Landry, both of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leopold Landry and Elia Broussard Landry Domingue; two brothers, Samuel Landry and Frank Landry; one grandson, Torrey Broussard and one great granddaughter, Amber LeBlanc. A resident of Maryville, Tennessee for the last two years, Mrs. Simon was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. She was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, who will be dearly missed. Pallbearers are Kelly LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc, Cody Ritchey, Ethen Ritchey, Zachary Stockton and Everett McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steven Duhon, James McDonald and Robert Landry. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
