The Life of Mrs. Annie Lou Mashaw
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Annie Bernard Mashaw, 80, who passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012. The Reverend Howard Blessing will officiate the ceremony and conduct graveside services. Interment will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park.
The family requests that visitation hours be observed on Monday, February 13th from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, February 14th from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited by Jay Bergeron on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers are Roy Bernard, Terry Bernard, Alan Carpenter, Robert Carpenter, Steven Carpenter, and Richard Guilbeau.
Survivors include two brothers, Russell Bernard and wife Mary, of Hanceville, AL, and Roy Bernard of Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Mashaw; her parents, Ella and Leonce Bernard; six sisters and three brothers.
Annie has been a member of both Holy Cross Catholic Church and First Baptist Church in Lafayette. She was also a member of the Louisiana State Florist Association, and is a past recipient of the “Floral Designer of the Year Award” in the state of Louisiana.
In her free time she enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, and painting. She was very kind, generous, and accepting of other people, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, her very special neighbors, and her outstanding caregivers, Lou August, Sharon Wheeler, and Ladia Touchet.
