The Life of Bessie Lea Thibodeaux

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for Bessie Lea Burrow Thibodeaux who passed away on January 15, 2012 in Rosepine, LA at the age of 100. Reverend Mark B. Benge, Pastor of First United Methodist Church , will conduct the funeral services. She was the widow of Joseph Desire' Thibodeaux and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lafayette, LA. Ms. Bessie was born in Rosepine, LA on March 25, 1911. She was the only daughter of William Thomas and Adah Roselea Burrow. Ms. Bessie was a longtime resident of Lafayette where she devoted and dedicated her life to a career of serving the mentally challenged, special needs and handicapped children and citizens of our society. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Carolyn Ann Thibodeaux of Lafayette, LA; three grandchildren, Billie K. Spence of Dickinson, TX, Kelton Thomas Burrow and Sherry Lynn Ray both of DeRidder, LA and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; son, Roy Kelton Burrow; four brothers, Rueben Houston Burrow, Rayford Aaron Burrow, Turner Winton Burrow and Freaman Adison Burrow. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM in Lafayette. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
