The Life of Robert Keith Wood Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Robert Keith Wood, Sr., 81, who passed away on January 5, 2009 at 3:00 pm at his residence.

Reverend Juan Luis Ganvara will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Mr. Wood, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Frank Wood of St. Vincent, West Indies and the former Lena Ewbank of London, England. Robert was employed by the Panama Canal Company for 27 years. After retirement he moved to and became a resident of Lafayette in 1979. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Dioselina C. Wood; two sons, Robert K. Wood, Jr. and his wife, Gail and David K. Wood and his wife, Christine; and two grandsons, Coby and Garret Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and will continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until the time of service.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert K. Wood, Jr., David K. Wood, Coby R. Wood, Garret M. Wood, McKay Wood and Gene Wood. Honorary pallbearer will be Darrell Hebert.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
