The Life of Lawrence James Menard

Lafayette- Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 2 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton for Lawrence "Bee" Menard, 71. "Bee" was born into the world on September 1, 1934 and went to be with the Lord at his residence in Youngsville on Sunday, January 15, 2006.

Interment will follow the funeral mass at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette.

The Rev. Louis Richard will conduct the funeral mass, and Rev. Mr. Cody Miller will recite the Rosary.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty one years, Joyce Duhon Menard of Youngsville; his sons, Robert Wayne Menard and his wife Missy of Florence, South Carolina, Thomas K. Menard of Youngsville, David Menard and his wife Tina of Lafayette, and Randal L. Menard and his wife Gwen of Lafayette; his daughters, Debbie Sue Smith of Youngsville, Brenda M. Guillot and her husband Daniel of Lafayette, and Lisa M. Guillotte of Lafayette; sisters, Ezola "Cot" DeRouen of El Paso, TX, Mable Romero of Youngsville, and Francis Trahan of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Nolan Menard and his wife Sandra of West Lake, LA; mother-in-law, Agnes Duhon; and a very special friend, Howard Broussard. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eloi Menard, Sr., and his mother, Philomene Trahan Menard; his son-in-law, Wilton Smith; his sister, Denise Bijeaux, and his brothers, Eloi "Jr." Menard, Stanley Menard, Neville "Joe" Menard, Horace Menard, Henry Menard, and Raymond Menard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Wayne Menard, Thomas K. Menard, Randal L Menard, David Menard, Brad Guillotte, and Nolan Menard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Guillot, Howard Broussard, Adam Guillotte, Andrew Guillotte, Lynn LeMoine, David Lawrence Menard, and Buck Jones.

The family would like to express a special word of gratitude to Sara Cezear and Brenda LeBlanc with Concepts of Care, and to Dr. Darbonne for the devoted and compassionate care they have shown Lawrence during his illness. Also, expressions of gratitude go to Courtney Guillotte for her love and constant dedication to Mr. Lawrence.

A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 7:30 PM by Deacon Cody Miller.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, January 17, 2006 from 9 AM till 10 PM and continue Wednesday, January 18, 2006 from 8 AM until service time.
