The Life of Leta Broussard

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Leta Le Blanc Broussard, 101, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Katie McCown and Ginger Chauvin. Giftbearers will be Keri Juneau and Madilyn Hitzfeld. Karen Broussard, organist and vocalist, accompanied by Lauren Chauvin (great granddaughter), vocalist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Ave Maria", J''irai la voir un jour", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman". Survivors include one daughter, Mary B. Bringol of Bossier City, LA.; one son, Pierre W. Broussard of Maurice, LA.; seven grandchildren, Barbara Richard and her husband, Robert of Maurice, LA., Kenneth Chauvin and his wife, Ginger of Maurice, LA., Susan Orgeron of Lafayette, LA., Donna Hebert of Bossier City, LA., Jimmie Chauvin and his wife, Charlene of Shreveport, LA., Joey Chauvin of Keithville, LA., Terry Chauvin and his wife, Tracy of Keatchie, LA.; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Francis LeBlanc of Lafayette, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphe A. Broussard; four sisters; five brothers; and her parents, Francois and Anaise Broussard LeBlanc.A native of Lafayette Parish, Louisiana and lifelong resident of Maurice, Mrs. Broussard was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family who will miss her good meals. Mrs. Broussard enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Robert Richard, Justin McCown, Brandon Juneau, Kenneth Chauvin, Joey Chauvin and Terry Chauvin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Chauvin and Francis LeBlanc.A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
