The Life of Aldon Joseph Vincent

Funeral services will be held at a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 20, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Aldon Joseph Vincent, 85, who passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at his residence. The Very Rev. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. Mr. Vincent, a native of Lafayette, was the son of the late Armond Vincent and the former Lucille Boutte both of St. Martinville, LA. He was retired from Jack''s Cookies after thirty years of service. He was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church Community. He was a veteran in the United States Army. Survivors include wife, Gloria A. Vincent of Lafayette; two daughters, Sheryl Mouhot and husband, Michael of New Iberia, LA, and Peggy Sonnier and husband, Stephen of Duson, LA; two sons, Larry Vincent of Lafayette, LA, and Tommy Vincent and wife, Merlene of Church Point, LA; ten grandchildren, Christy Barras, Tammy Meyers, Jennifer Hines, Rachel Gonzales, Jeremy Sonnier, Sabrina Vincent, Ashley Vincent, Garrett Vincent, Melinda Vincent, and Timothy Vincent; ten great grandchildren; and two brothers, Russell Vincent of New Iberia, LA, and Sidney Vincent of St. Martinville, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randy Vincent; and one brother, Roland Vincent. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. Pallbearers will include Michael Mouhot, Stephen Sonnier, Guy Vincent, Jeremy Sonnier, Timothy Vincent, and Garrett Vincent. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
