The Life of Loula Dugas

Funeral services will be held at a 2:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 11, 2006, in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lula Lucille Bernard Dugas, 90, who passed away Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Rev. John De Leeuw , will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Dugas, the daughter of the late Emile Bernard and the former Devine Broussard, was a native of Lafayette, LA. She enjoyed traveling and was a master gardener. She was a member of The Orchid Society. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Hoffmann, Peggy D. Boyd and Janine Dugas; one son, Jim Dugas and wife, Susan; five grandchildren, Michael Kilchrist, Maxwell Dugas, Jesse Dugas, Jennifer Meaux and Richard Boyd II; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James J. Dugas Sr.; one grandson, Glen Bearb; one sister, Sue Duco; four brothers, Albert Bernard, Henry Bernard, George Bernard and Lennis Bernard. Visiting hours will be observed Sunday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue Monday from 10:00 am until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, September10, 2006 at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will include Michael Kilchrist, Maxwell Dugas, Jesse Dugas, Richard Boyd II, Larry Trombatore and Donald Peterson. Honorary Pallbearers will include Joe Trombatore, Charles Abdella, Lanny Duco and Ronald Guidry. Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Lula Dugas to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
