The Life of Norman E Vincent
Funeral services will be held today, Saturday, August 15, 2009, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Norman E. Vincent, 80, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2009 at his residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend John De Leeuw, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Matt Seaux, Christopher Seaux and Vanessa Seaux. Valerie Andrus, organist and soloist, will sing "Wind Beneath My Wings", "Here I Am Lord", "Take My Hand Precious Lord" and "How Great Thou Art" for the services. Survivors include his beloved wife, Virginia Rivoire Vincent of Lafayette; one daughter, Vicki Seaux and her husband Daniel; one son, Gary A. Vincent and his special friend Donna Nino; three grandchildren, Vanessa R. Seaux, Christopher Seaux and Matthew Seaux; one sister, Velma V. Falls and her husband J.C.; and one brother, Jaywood Vincent and his wife Dolly.He was preceded in death by his parents, Romain and Edes Prejean Vincent.A native of Abbeville and a resident of Lafayette, Norman Vincent proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and served on the USS Astoria. Upon his retirement from the oilfield, he enjoyed fishing and camping across the United States. He was a member of St. Basil Catholic Church in Judice. Norman Vincent will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.Pallbearers will be Christopher Seaux, Matthew Seaux, Glenn Rivoire, Richard Rivoire, Paul Simon and Randy Rivoire.A Rosary was prayed on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
