The Life of Pervis Jospeh Langlinais

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010, at a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel for Mr. Pervis "P.J." Langlinais, age 80, who passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital in Jennings, Louisiana.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, Rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers are Chrissy Decou and Kennon Menard. Eulogist will be Mr. Langlinais'' granddaughter, Megan Menard, who will read a tribute to Parents at 9:15 AM on Monday. Survivors include his children, Renee Langlinais Comeaux and her husband, Daniel B. Comeaux, Keith Blaine Langlinais and his companion, Sandra Sue Bergeron and Melissa Langlinais Menard and her husband, Keith Menard; four grandchildren, Jason Michael Decou, Christin Renee Decou, Megan Elizabeth Menard and Kennon Michael Menard; his sister, Bernice Langlinais and two brothers, U.C. Langlinais and Louis Carroll Langlinais.He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Stoutes Langlinais and his parents, Romauld Langlinais and the former, Louisa Gallet, both natives of Milton, Louisiana; a brother, Euel Langlinais and a sister, Bertha Langlinais Lena. A native of Milton and a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mr. Pervis "P.J." Langlinais was born on February 12, 1930. He proudly served our country as a veteran of military service in the United States Army from March 1951 to February 1953. Mr. Langlinais served in the Korean War and was honored to receive the Korean Service Medal. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and boating. Mr. P.J. was blessed with the talent and creativity for both designing and building homes and state of the art boats. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s Southside Lafayette location on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Monday, March 8, 2010 from 8:00 AM until time of the Funeral Mass. A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday evening at 6:30 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.Martin & Castille, Southside, 600 E. Farrel Rd.-Lafayette, 337-984-2811
